What is the Powdery Mildew || How to prevent from it?

Powdery Mildew is a very harmful disease that affects a wide range of plants. This kind of disease are caused by many different fungi in the order Erysiphales. It can be easily identify its symptoms are quite distinctive. In leaves and stems of plants display white powdery spots so is a sign of powdery mildew. In this kind of fungi basically the lower leaves are the most affected but the mildew can appear on any above-ground  part of the plant. If the spot are larger it means the larger number of asexual spores are formed in the plant in this case the mildew may spread up both side of length of plant.

For well formed Powdery Mildew need high humidity and moderate temperatures environment. In Most of cases this kind of environment are provided in greenhouses. This causes harm to agricultural and horticultural practices. This can be controlled using chemical methods, like bio organic methods, and genetic resistance.

How to prevent from Powdery Mildew

Homemade Prevention

There many thing in home that can you use in the prevention of powedery mildew when you the see the starting sign of it. Sulfur, lime-sulfur, neem oil , and potassium bicarbonate.

Most of the garden suggest baking soda is best effective method for preventing the powdery mildew . Here is the process by baking soda.

1. Mix 1 teaspoon baking soda in 1 quart of water.
2. Spray  plants thoroughly .

Note :-  Only it will kill those fugus which are directly contact with it so spray well in the spotted area.

Milk spray is another method of homemade prevention you can use it .Here is the process of it

1. You have to dilute the milk with water( typically 1:10).
2. And spray on the spotted area at time of first stage of fungi.

Fungicides

There are  many fungicides are available  that are really help to prevent the powedery mildew and best of thing is they are available with low toxicity ,no residue, and long duration so you can don’t worry about the fungi .I will share you one of them  is Triadimefon and here is the process of it.

1. It can be sprayed with 1000-1200 WP of 15% wettable powder
2. 1 times intervals of 10days ,and 2-3 times
